Protect your personal information
Do not share information that can be used to identify, locate, or financially harm you: your home address, workplace details, bank or card details, government ID, or passwords. Someone seeming trustworthy early on is not a reason to share it.

Communicate safely
Keep conversations in the app until you feel safe. Pressure to move immediately to another service can be a warning sign because moderation and reporting tools may not be available there.
- Do not open suspicious links or files.
- Report harassment, threats, or abusive messages.
- Never send money to someone you only know online.
Meeting in person
- Arrange first meetings in a public place and use your own transport.
- Tell a trusted friend where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you will check in.
- Keep your phone charged and call 112 if you are in immediate danger.
Recognise warning signs
Requests for money: travel, medical, or emergency stories are common romance-scam tactics.
Love bombing: intense declarations or pressure before you have met.
Inconsistent stories: details about work, location, or life keep changing.
Avoiding video calls: profile photos may not belong to the person.
Urgency: pressure to decide quickly about money or personal information.
Moving off-platform: attempts to avoid moderation from the first conversation.

Reports are handled discreetly. The person you report is not told who submitted it. In immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services first.
